The Muse: Marked: Nope. Apartment: W-5 2-4 Character: Sakurazuka Seishirou Series/Fandom: Tokyo Babylon/X Original or Template Version?: Template Age: 34 Gender: Male Species: Human Sexuality: Asexual, with the exception of Subaru. (Though he is capable of appreciating beauty on an aesthetic level) Appearance: Seishirou is of Japanese descent, and this is evident from both his hair and skin colour. His left eye is brown, again typical of the Japanese. His right eye, however, is made of glass. His usual clothing consists of a black trench coat over a suit, minus the blazer-style jacket. His shirt of choice is typically white, contrasting with a black tie, and trousers. Most of the time he also wears a pair of dark sunglasses, primarily, to hide his false right eye. There is also an element of psychological intimidation behind his reasoning for this. Being something of a chain smoker, he’ll often be seen with a cigarette of his favoured brand. Personality: Seishirou has many personalities, which one he uses depends upon a combination of his company and his mood. Sadistic, flirtatious, gentlemanly, creepy, and even just plain silly, you name it; he can pull it off almost flawlessly. When he’s on his own, he has a habit of talking to himself. Sometimes this is serious contemplation of his current situation, often slightly detached and uncaring. When discussing the fate of others with himself, this can be particularly unnerving. His other kind of self-conversation is very much light hearted, it appears to others to be more of an eccentric quirk than anything else. When dealing with his victims he’ll behave in much the same manner as he would when talking to himself in his more serious manner. He has a tendency to toy with his prey before he kills, appearing to take great pleasure in tormenting his victims. This is likely out of interest in exploring human reaction. Despite this he’s extremely efficient. With the exception of Subaru, he’s never failed to kill those he intended to. Whilst around anyone who knows of his position he tends to behave in much the same way he does with his prey, regardless of whether he intends to kill them or not. To those who are completely unaware of his role as the Sakurazukamori, he appears to be extremely kind, and caring. He comes off slightly absent minded, and perhaps a little goofy. He’ll spend most of his time making daft jokes, or worrying over silly things. On occasion he’ll parody this behaviour around those who know what he is, more for his own amusement than for any practical reason. Abilities/Strengths: Seishirou has most basic onmyoujitsu skills, along with those unique to the Sakurazuka Clan. Illusions seem to be among his favourite spells, and he nearly always uses them when he kills. His signature killing move is a spear hand through the heart. Presumably his onmyoujitsu gives him the physical strength to be capable of this with such ease. As an Angel, he has the ability to jump much further than most other humans. He can also sense when there are others involved with the end of the world present. This applies to both the Dragons of Earth, and those of Heaven. On top of fellow Angels, and the Seals he can sense those he has marked as his prey. Considering he was once a veterinarian, it is safe to assume he is fairly intelligent from an academic standpoint. He’s quite perspective, and will often notice things others may not. Despite being raised for the purpose of becoming an emotionless assassin, he has a fairly firm understanding of humanity, and the way people work. He does seem to know why people act in certain ways, despite not being able to understand it himself. His detached perspective means he is capable of observing and analysing varying viewpoints with relative ease, perhaps at times more accurately than those who were raised without privation. He holds a great tolerance for pain; in fact he didn’t so much as flinch when he lost his eye. Any reactions he has shown to injury in canon usually appear to be more of a force of habit than any instinctive reaction to pain. His lack of emotion means he doesn’t feel any remorse, neither does he feel real pleasure when he kills. This is part of the reason he is so well suited to his job. Weaknesses: Seishirou’s biggest weakness is Subaru. He’s the only person Seishirou has ever felt any real form of attachment to. This alone is enough to cloud Seishirou’s judgement when it comes to him. Because of the bet Seishirou made with him at the time of their first meeting, Seishirou is bound to put Subaru’s safety ahead of his own regardless of the cost. Whilst not having emotions can be useful for some things, it is clearly a disadvantage in others. His lack of understanding these things can work against him, and he finds it extremely difficult to admit it to himself on the rare occasions he feels something. It’s near impossible for him to admit it to others. He’s selfish, and extremely possessive. If someone tries to harm what he deems to be his, he will take extreme measures. Seishirou clearly has something of a nicotine addiction, and whilst he’s shown he can go quite some time without a cigarette, in the end an addiction is still an addiction. For every spell Seishirou casts, the power is always reflected back onto him. Because of this he needs to take measures to protect himself from this effect, known as sakanagi. He also has to make sacrifices for the Sakura Barrow; since he’s tied to it he doesn’t have much choice but to do so. History: Seishirou was born to Sakurazuka Setsuka in the mid 1960's, though as the heir to the Sakurazukamori he was separated from her at birth so as to prevent any family bonds from forming. His training was designed to dehumanize him and teach him how to kill without emotion. The first time he met his mother was at nine years old. She told him that he would kill her, something she seemed to be delighted by. She also told him she loved him. This was something he clearly couldn't comprehend, though he did accept it. He lived apart from his mother even after this initial meeting, though he did continue to see her. At age fifteen he killed her, and took over her role as the Sakurazukamori. As she died she told Seishirou that he would die protecting the one he cared for most, Seishirou was sceptical of her words since he'd been raised in a way he believed made him incapable of emotion of any sort. It was three years later he met for the first time the heir to the Sumeragi clan, Sumeragi Subaru; though at the time he didn't realize this despite recognizing him as another onmyouji. It was the first time anyone had ever witnessed him in the act of killing, and he was intrigued by his kindness. Because of this he decided to make a bet with him, rather than kill him straight away as a Sakurazukamori should. “If you and I should ever meet again, let us live together for one year. My heart is the direct inverse of yours... you are kind, pure, and honest. And I'm sure that is how you will continue to grow up. Your heart will remain pure. So, if we should ever meet again, I will try my hardest to learn to love you. Just for one year... and after that year, if I can consider you "special", you will have won and I will not kill you. But if I decide that I cannot consider you special to me -- if I cannot distinguish the difference between you and that corpse, then... I will kill you. And so today... I will let you go.” Seishirou marked Subaru's hands with inverted pentagrams, the symbol of the Sakurazukamori, before erasing his memories of the event. It wasn’t until Seishirou was 25 he once again met Subaru. Subaru was chasing his shikigami in Ikebukuro Station, when he tripped and fell. Despite the fact he was wearing enchanted gloves, Seishirou recognized him. It was this meeting that began the year of the bet. During this year Seishirou protected Subaru on many occasions, and even lost his eye in doing so. Throughout the year he continued to profess his love for Subaru. In many cases this seemed to only be a joke, though there were occasions where he appeared to be serious in his claims. He was encouraged in both of these by Subaru’s older twin sister. Though Subaru was initially embarrassed by this, and Hokuto’s encouragement, he eventually grew to accept Seishirou’s proclaimed feelings. It was only after Seishirou had lost his eye he realized that he may have lost the bet after all. Subaru believed himself to be responsible, and though Seishirou assured him he had protected Subaru of his own free will Subaru still couldn't help but blame himself. Seishirou insisted that his actions had been selfish, and that he'd only done it because he'd rather see Subaru healthy. He did, however, ask one favour of Subaru. Once Subaru confirmed he would do anything he asked of him, Seishirou asked him for a kiss. Though Seishirou had expected him to oblige, he still found himself caught off guard when Subaru did. It was a brief and clumsy kiss, and Seishirou didn't even really register it had happened till after Subaru had all but fled the room. Hokuto came into his hospital room a few minutes later; she had of course managed to force a confession out of her younger brother. This led to obligatory teasing from Hokuto, followed by a discussion of Subaru's feelings for Seishirou over tea. She made Seishirou promise not to take Subaru away from her, and though he wasn't sure why, he did. This wasn't a promise he intended to keep. Hokuto also let Seishirou know she knew exactly what he was during their conversation. All this left him with a lot to think about, and only a few days to make a decision. When Subaru next came to visit, it had been a year to the day since they'd 'met again'. Seishirou restored Subaru's memories of the day they met, and admitted that whilst he didn't love Subaru, he had come to see him as more than just an object. Subaru was shocked and upset upon discovering Seishirou was the Sakurazukamori, and the awakening of his memories caused him to sink into a catatonic state. Seishirou left, deciding it would be for the best to protect Subaru from a distance. He quit his job as a veterinarian, no longer needing the guise, and realising it would make him far easier to find. A month after Seishirou had left, Hokuto managed to track him down. She persuaded him to return, insisting Subaru would recover far quicker if he was helping look after him. Though the twin’s grandmother allowed Seishirou's presence she made it clear she was far from happy about it. Once Subaru was once more conscious, he asked Seishirou to leave. He couldn't bring himself to accept that Seishirou was the Sakurazukamori, and he didn't believe he could love who Seishirou really was. It wasn't till 1999 that the two met once more. 1999 was the year of destiny; a battle between the Dragons of Heaven and the Dragons of Earth would decide the Earth's future. Each side consisted of a 'Kamui', and six other members. Members of the Dragons of Earth were known as Angels, whilst members of the Dragons of Heaven were known as Seals. The Angels fought for the Earth- wiping out the human population so that it would have the chance to heal itself. The Seals fought for the salvation of humanity, holding the belief that humanity should be given the chance to undo the damage it had done to the planet. The battle took place in Template, and this was where the Dragons from both sides gathered. The role of the Angels was to destroy certain points in the city, whilst the Seals did their best to protect it with their individual powers and their Kekkai. Each Seal had a Kekkai, and whilst this would protect the surrounding area and it's occupants from harm, it would shatter should the Seal die, or no longer have anyone they wished to protect. Destiny had decided the roles of each of the Dragons, and the sides they would take long before any of them had been alive. The respective heads of the Sakurazuka and Sumeragi clans found themselves on opposing sides. Seishirou took on the role of an Angel of the Dragons of Earth. Subaru was a Seal of the Dragons of Heaven. Despite this, the two never actually fought against each other. Though they did run into each other on occasion, their encounters consisted only of conversation, albeit a little awkward. This mostly occurred on the shyer Subaru's part. It was through these conversations Seishirou learned that Hokuto had been killed in one of the earthquakes caused by the Angels. Though Subaru never admitted it to Subaru, he had been the Angel behind the earthquake. He regretted this, although only because of the pain it caused Subaru. It wasn't until Fuuma, the Kamui of the Dragons of Earth decided to fulfil one of Subaru's wishes that they ended up in the same conflict, despite both being active members on their respective sides. It appeared that Subaru had desired to lose his right eye, ever since Seishirou had sacrificed his own protecting him. Of course, Seishirou was bound by the bet to protect Subaru. Rather than let Fuuma harm Subaru, Seishirou stepped in. This served to provide Fuuma the chance to fulfil Seishirou's true wish, and proving his mothers dying words true. This act also rendered one of the Seals useless. Fuuma spared Subaru's eye, instead driving his hand through Seishirou's chest. Fuuma left after this. Subaru's Kekkai was already fading, and the surrounding area would be left in ruin. Seishirou spent his last moments in Subaru’s arms. His final words were heard by Subaru alone. The next Seishirou knew he was on his own, though he was fairly sure this Template was not the one he’d been in only moments before. This is an RP journal, the mun is making no profit from this.
